El Sharko This is one of the sharks in one of the Marine Parks we visited. Awesome creatures. |
Bald Eagle The Bald Eagle is the national bird and symbol of the USA. Parque las Eguias in Tenerife has displays of this bird in flight, and attacking ground prey. The plumage of an adult Bald Eagle is evenly brown with a white head and tail. |
La Gomera This sleepy little island, La Gomera, can be visited by taking the ferry from Los Christianos in Tenerife. Not much to there but relax ! | ||||||
Moon Landscape This is located in the National Park near Mount Teide in Tenerife, and is a Moonlike landscape. Part of the Star Wars film was shot here in the 1980s before going to Tunisia for finish the film. |
Mount Teide This is Spain's highest mountain, and is actually a volcano. The white section on top of the volcano is actually lava which has dried quicker than the surrounding lava. There are cable cars to the top, but they were closed the day we were there, due to winds and temperatures of -2ºC. |
One Small Step … Not a sign of grass anywhere, it really is like being on another world. The rocks are all volcanic from one of Europe's largest dormant Volcanoes. The last eruption on the island was 1907. | ||||||
