The Apollo VIII Mission Control This is exactly the way the Apollo VIII Mission Control Center looked at the moment of launch. In this area the video overhead shows the actual footage and the computers light up with actual readings. Other Special effects included the windows shaking to simulate the launch. |
The Saturn 1-B Rocket The Saturn 1-B, was a launch vehicle for the test Apollo spacecraft. Flight testing was halted in January 1967 after a fire which killed 3 astronauts. On October 11, 1968 the Saturn 1-B successfully launched the crewed Apollo 7. |
